Network infrastructure
The network everything else in the building depends on.
Design, installation, cabling, firewalls and the monitoring that keeps a business network stable. On your premises, in a data centre, or split across both.
- Design and installation
- Firewalls and access control
- Remote and on-site support
Most networks were never designed
They accumulate. A router from the internet provider, a switch somebody bought when the ports ran out, access points added each time the far end of the office complained, and a firewall that is either absent or was configured once by somebody who has since left. It works, until the day it does not, and when a network stops everything on it stops at the same time.
We design it deliberately, install it, secure the edge, and stay responsible for it afterwards. That last part is the one that matters: a network is not a project you finish, it is a thing that has to keep working while people use it.
This page is about the network itself. If the servers sitting on it need looking after, that is server management. If they would be better off not in your office at all, that is hosting.
What we do
From the floor plan to the firewall rules
Design
The architecture planned around how the business actually works: how many people, in which rooms, needing to reach what, and what happens when that doubles.
Installation and cabling
On-site installation, structured cabling and device configuration. Done once, labelled, and documented so the next person can read it.
Servers
Physical, bare metal or cloud-hosted servers deployed and configured to sit properly on the network rather than bolted onto it.
Firewalls and access control
Enterprise firewalls with threat management, intrusion prevention and rules that reflect who should reach what, not just what was easiest to allow.
Wireless
Access points placed for coverage rather than for proximity to a power socket, with guest access kept away from everything else.
Monitoring and support
Remote monitoring, updates and security checks, with a person to call when something is wrong.
How the work is bought
Three ways to engage us
One-time setup
A new office, an upgrade, or an urgent failure. Professional setup and fast response to get operations back.
Maintenance contract
Proactive monitoring, regular updates, security checks and performance work, on an agreed scope and a fixed monthly cost.
Remote and on-site
Remote troubleshooting for most things, and somebody physically there when a cable, a port or a piece of hardware is the problem.
Hardware we work with
Routers, switches and access points. Physical and bare-metal servers. Cloud-hosted infrastructure in the data centres we already operate in.
We are not tied to one vendor and we do not mark hardware up as a business model. If what you already own is fit for the job, the honest answer is to keep it and configure it properly.
Questions
What people ask first
Will you work on a network you did not build?
Do we have to buy the hardware from you?
Can you come on site?
How big does a business need to be for this?
Is this the same as server management?
Not sure what you are actually running?
That is the normal starting point. We will audit what is there and tell you what needs attention first.
